Martha Jane Forsythe Zawadzki

TERRE HAUTE — Martha Jane Forsythe Zawadzki, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013. She was born in Terre Haute, on Dec. 22, 1919, to Victor H. Forsythe and Lavina (Welsh) Forsythe. She was retired from the Vigo County School Corporation and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

Survivors include her daughter, Priscilla Winn of Terre Haute; son, Henry (Hank) Zawadzki and wife Sherry of Anchorage, Alaska; grandsons, Anthony Winn Jr. of Terre Haute and Jon Zawadzki and his wife Stacey of Terre Haute; and great-grandchildren, Zachary Winn of North Carolina, and Christian Zawadzki and Zeplynn Zawadzki, both of Terre Haute. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Victor H. Forsythe Jr.; and sisters, Priscilla Forsythe York and Eleanor Forsythe St. John.

Visitation is Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, from 1 until 2 p.m. in St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with a funeral mass at 2 p.m. in the church with Father Rick Ginther officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Forsythe Cemetery in Marshall, Ill. DeBaun Springhill Chapel is in charge of arrangements. The family would like to thank VistaCare Hospice and Clinton Gardens for all the care and support they have shown the family. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to Glasses and Hearing Aid Fund of the Vigo County School Corporation.
