Obituary: November 6th, 2015 Robert "Bob" G. Shoptaugh went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015, while in the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. He was born Sept. 6, 1944, son of the late Robert Franklin and Merle Shoptaugh. Robert was a security guard at Securitas and served his country faithfully in the Army. He also worked as a riverboat captain for many years. Robert also was preceded in death by his grandson, Dustin Shaver; and brother, Jerry Shoptaugh. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Anna Deane Morgan Shoptaugh; three daughters, Naomi Hardesty, Darlene Toomey (Mark) and Wilma Shaver; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Pat (Dave) Spring of Evansville; and a brother, Ronnie Shoptaugh of Arizona. A memorial service is 2 p.m. Saturday at Walnut Memorial Baptist Church with Brother Eugene Howard officiating. Memorial contributions in Mr. Shoptaugh's honor can be made to Heartford House in care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. Care by Cardinal Cremation Society. |
