Terre Haute Star (IN) Tribune, page 2, Tuesday, June 1, 1993 Merietta “Metta” Parrish Paris, Ill. – Merietta “Metta” Parrish, 101, of Paris died at 3:25 p.m. Monday, May 31, 1993, in Paris Community Hospital. She was a homemaker. She was born Sept. 27, 1891, in Clark County to Thomas Goodman Forsythe and Margaret Laufman. Her husband, Verner Parrish, died in 1988. Survivors include one son, Hall Parrish of Paris; one daughter, Wilma L. Lammey of Terre Haute; one brother, Russell Forsythe of Libertyville, Ind.; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was a member of Oliver church of Christ at Oliver. Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Sutton and Son Funeral Home, with the Revs. James Rue and Joe Miller officiating. Burial is in Edgar Cemetery. Visitation is after 4 p.m. Wednesday. |

Burial will be in Vermilion Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday. He was a member of the church of Christ, Masonic Lodge 268 AF&AM, Danville Consistory, Ansar Shrine, Edgar County Shrine Club, OES and Paris American Legion Post 211. Surviving are his wife, Annabelle; his parents, Verner and Mattie Parrish, Paris; one brother Hall, Paris; and one sister Wilma Lammey, Terre Haute. |
