"Robert Black English (Issac B. 8, Abel 6, Isaac 5, Joseph 4, John 3, Joseph 2, Joseph 1), was born Dec 6, 1863, and died June 6, 1930. He married (1) October 24, 1888, to Ella forsythe, daughter of Bradford and Martha (Anderson) Forsythe of near Marshall. robert English was a farmer and spent his entire life within sight of Marshall. He lived for many years on what had been his father's farm and then purchased the site of the original Abel English place. He was a kind and considerate man with a few odd characteristics. Although there were two railroads along the sides of his farm, he never rode on a railroad train. He never slept away from home except for a few nights during a Clark County Fair at martinsville, Illinois, when he slept in the stall of the mules he showed at the fair"

Robert Black ENGLISH born Dec. 6, 1863; married Ella FORSYTHE onOct. 24, 1888.

Ella died Dec. 29, 1890. One child: Winona Irene ENGLISH. He was a farmer and spent his entire life within sight of Marshall. He lived for many years on what had been his father's farm and then purchased the site of the original Abel ENGLISH place. He was a kind, considerate man, with a few odd characteristics. Although there were two railroads along the sides of his farm, he never rode on a railroad train. He never slept away from home except for a few nights during a Clark County Fair at Martinsville, Illinois, when he slept in the stall of the mules he showed at the fair. Robert married 2nd: Anna SPOTTS. Anna taught school for 30 years, was greatly interested in the English Family and wrote many of the obituaries of the members of the family as they appeared in the local papers over a period of 50 years. Robert died June 6, 1930.
