Forsythe Family Network

James [F.] Forsythe was born in Ireland, (b. 1718 - d. 1785). His wife's name was Elizabeth [Boswell], (b. about 1722). Their was a son, Robert Forsythe, (b. 1744 - d. 1802), listed as children on immigration papers. I have not seen any of these papers. James Forsythe, along with his wife & son, came to America from Ulster, Ireland in 1755 [1767]. The majority of the stories state that they landed in Norfolk VA., however, there are stories stating they landed in Wilmington, DE. I will cover this possibility later. It has been stated that they left Ireland to escape the potato famine, however, there was famine during 1740-1741 which was 15-25 years after their departure. The stated dates of departure from Ireland do not match this fact. On the other hand, why they departed is not as relevant to me. They did depart and the did arrive.
